JAWS Explored: A Deep‑Dive Documentary Into Spielberg’s Masterpiece [Trailer]

 

Fifty-one years after Steven Spielberg’s Jaws forever changed blockbuster film-making, the team behind the acclaimed In Search of Darkness, Aliens Expanded, and The Thing Expanded documentaries is diving back into the waters that started it all.

CREATORVC has officially announced Jaws Explored, an ambitious new documentary that promises to examine the 1975 classic from an entirely fresh perspective.

Pre-orders for Jaws Explored opened on July 15 and will remain available exclusively through August 9, 2026, via the documentary’s official website.

Written and directed by Ian Nathan (Aliens Expanded, The Thing Expanded) and produced by CREATORVC, Jaws Explored goes far beyond the traditional "making-of" documentary. Instead of focusing solely on behind-the-scenes stories, the film analyzes Spielberg’s masterpiece scene by scene while featuring insights from acclaimed filmmakers, critics, and film historians to uncover why Jaws continues to captivate audiences more than five decades after its release.

According to CREATORVC, the documentary will explore the film’s creative influences, enduring legacy, passionate fan community, and lasting cultural impact, offering viewers an immersive new appreciation of one of cinema’s greatest thrillers. The production is also being developed in ongoing consultation with the worldwide Jaws fan community, continuing CREATORVC’s philosophy of creating documentaries made by fans, for fans.
